¡¡The architecture seeks to find a language of fluid transitions of such juxtaposed positions. Understanding the ideological and physical realities of difference as complex structures and mechanisms of connectivity, the architecture blends and mediates, thus allowing the environment to be read as a complex folding of a continuous fluid surface.
¡¡A competition for a research institute in the city of Munich, Germany, the project is positioned in between a very dense and superficially fragmented site. The institutes self described role is that of a mediator between academic research and commercial industry, thus making it a programmatic hybrid of cutting edge invention and broad commodification, resulting in nothing other than the need for yet another workplace, namely: an office.
¡¡The building, compressed, contorted and squeezed in between existing structures, almost as if internally weaving fibers of, what/want to call infrastructures.
¡¡These infrastructures, by connecting in more or less obvious ways with surrounding elements of the, allow to understand the city as a surface of a continuous and nonstatic geometry of events.
¡¡The building has no floorplans, its levels are never level. Their continuous change of elevation and direction questions the tradition of architecture and architectural representation. Floors are not clearly distinct from each other, nor can they be represented as separable entities. ¡á
